CAD MANAGER – Post Falls, ID office
Job Description:
- Manage a staff of 10-15 AutoCAD drafters in a fast-paced environment with multiple, simultaneous deadlines for internal & external clients.
- Interface effectively with a large staff of engineers, surveyors, landscape architects & other professional staff.
- Utilize “people skills” to motivate and lead the drafting team to achieve company goals.
- Understand the technical aspects of the engineering design process well enough to redline drawings for the drafting team, surveyors and other engineers. Successfully communicate those revisions to the drafting team.
- Revise and organize existing drafting standards into a new set of standards for the entire company, then spearhead the implementation of those standards company-wide.
- Implement a quality control process to ensure the new drafting standards are being adhered to, and then be able to use constructive criticism to effect change if the standards are not being followed.
- Manage a large database of engineering & surveying drawings and help keep those files organized for reference by other staff members.
Desired Skills:
- Engineering design, surveying & platting experience and IT skills preferred but not required.
- Management and leadership skills; the ability to work well with others and motivate them.
- Computer skills: Must be very proficient in AutoCAD Land Development Desktop 2004 (or newer); Autodesk Civil Design 2004 (or newer); Autodesk Survey 2004 (or newer); Project 2007; Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong organizational and analytical thinking skills.
- Good writing and grammar skills.
